Chip McLean

Chip McLean serves as Senior Vice President, Head of Business Affairs and Business Development, for Disney Music Group (DMG), which includes Hollywood Records and Walt Disney Records, and as General Manager of Disney Concerts Worldwide, DMG’s concert production and licensing arm. He is also The Walt Disney Company’s senior executive responsible for Disney Music Publishing (DMP).

In that latter capacity, McLean manages DMP’s expanding businesses, including signing top songwriters , collaborating with DMP’s global publishing partners and developing new strategic initiatives to leverage Disney’s music catalog. Songwriters signed to DMP include Dewain Whitmore Jr. (Chris Brown, Joji, David Guetta, Tiesto, Martin Garrix, Kasey Musgraves), Tony Ferrari (NCT 127, almost monday, Lee Brice), and Kate Anderson & Elyssa Samsel (Jonas Brothers, Central Park Seasons 1-3) among others.

In 2024 DMP added Grammy-nominated production duo, The Monarch (Zara Larsson, David Guetta, Meek Mill, Kelly Clarkson).

DMP administers the works of award-winning songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Bobby Lopez. Kristen has won multiple Oscars, Grammys and Emmys. Bobby is the youngest EGOT winner in history, achieving EGOT status twice.

Recent chart successes include singles from Doechii’s “What It Is”, Sabrina Carpenter’s “Nonsense”, almost monday’s chart topping single “Can’t Slow Down” and Lee Brice’s double-platinum single “Soul”.

DMP represents works from award-winning composers for the world’s biggest film and television franchises including John Williams, Michael Giacchino, Alan Menken, Randy Newman, Christophe Beck, Ludwig Göransson, Hans Zimmer and Thomas Newman.

McLean launched his career as an attorney with a prominent Washington, D.C., communications law firm. He later joined the New Media practice group of Wilson, Sonsini, Goodrich & Rosati in Palo Alto, California. In 1995 McLean joined Warner Bros. Records, serving in various capacities, including Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs.

A native of Southern California, McLean graduated from UCLA and Stanford Law School.
