NMPA Announces Top Songwriters for May 2016
NMPA Honors Songwriters of RIAA-Certified Gold, Platinum & Multi-Platinum Singles
WASHINGTON, D.C.— NMPA today announced the top songwriters and 176 certifications of hit songs for May as part of its Gold & Platinum Program, which identifies and honors songwriters of RIAA-certified hits.
In partnership with the RIAA’s Gold & Platinum Program, NMPA finds and certifies the songwriters of RIAA-certified singles. RIAA counts both sales and on-demand streams towards its gold (500K), platinum (1M) and multi-platinum (2M+) thresholds. Thousands of songwriters have been recognized since NMPA’s program began in 2007.
The top songwriters with 3 G&P certifications are:
Justin Bieber: The Feeling, Company and Purpose all certified Gold
Radric Davis: Wasted (Gucci Mane), Spotlight (Gucci Mane) and 5 Star (Yo Gotti) all certified Gold
Ross Golan and Benjamin Levin: Same Old Love certified Gold, Platinum and Multi-Platinum (Selena Gomez)
Justin Tranter: Good for You (Selena Gomez), Cake by the Ocean (DNCE) certified Multi-Platinum, and Close (Nick Jonas featuring Tove Lo) certified Gold
The top publishers honored include:

Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG): 37 certifications
SONY/ATV Music Publishing: 37 certifications
Kobalt Music: 22 certifications
BMG: 18 certifications
