NMPA Announces Top Gold & Platinum Songwriters for March 2017
NMPA Honors Songwriters of RIAA-Certified Gold, Platinum & Multi-Platinum Singles
WASHINGTON, D.C. – NMPA today announced the top songwriters and 164 certifications of hit songs for March as part of its Gold & Platinum Program which identifies and honors songwriters of RIAA-certified hits.
In partnership with the RIAA’s Gold & Platinum Program, NMPA finds and certifies the songwriters of RIAA-certified singles. RIAA counts both sales and on-demand streams towards its Gold (500K), Platinum (1M) and Multi-Platinum (2M+) thresholds. Thousands of songwriters have been recognized since NMPA’s program began in 2007.
The top songwriter with four certifications is Tyree Pittman, a.k.a “Young Chop” (Warner/Chappell): Love Sosa certified Platinum and Gold; and I Don’t Like certified Platinum and Gold.
Other top songwriters tied with three certifications include:
Bruno Mars (BMG, Warner/Chappell): 24k Magic certified Multi-Platinum; and That’s What I Like certified Platinum and Gold.
Christopher “Brody” Brown (Warner/Chappell): 24k Magic certified Multi-Platinum; and That’s What I Like certified Platinum and Gold.
Corey Taylor (Sony/ATV): Through Glass certified Platinum and Gold; and Bother certified Gold.
Jeremy Felton (UMPG): Do You Mind certified Platinum; and That Way and Your Body both certified Gold.
Quavious Marshall (UMPG): Congratulations certified Platinum and Gold; and T-Shirt certified Gold.
Leland Wayne (UMPG): Congratulations certified Platinum and Gold; and You Was Right certified Platinum.
