Tyler Bacon

Tyler Bacon is the Founder, President, and CEO of Position Music, an independent music company based in Los Angeles. He started the company in 1999 with a belief in the power of songs and the people who create them. For the first 16 of its 26 years, Position Music built its catalog through single-song publishing deals, consistently creating opportunities that kept songwriters inspired and productive. That foundational approach – doing the work and delivering for clients – continues to drive the company today.

Under Tyler’s leadership, Position Music has grown from a synch-focused business into a full-service independent frontline music publisher with a rapidly expanding label division. The company now has a team of 50, a world-class roster of writers, five in-house studios at its Burbank headquarters, and a new Nashville office underway on Music Row that will include three additional studios.

2024 marked a milestone year, with Position Music earning its first appearances on Billboard’s Hot 100 Top Publisher Market Share report, securing #7 and #8 rankings. The company celebrated five #1 songs, including “Nasty” by Tinashe and the global hit “Beautiful Things” by Benson Boone (written by Jack LaFrantz). Position Music also made its first catalog acquisition with the influential works of French electronic artist Gesaffelstein.

Tyler remains deeply committed to supporting artists, songwriters, producers, and the broader creative community.
