Churgin, former Vice President Citibank, and Director of Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment at Citibank's e-Business, will become the new President/CEO of HFA effective January 29, 2001. Churgin will report directly to the boards of HFA and NMPA. The Harry Fox Agency, Inc. provides an information source, clearing house and monitoring service for licensing musical copyrights, and acts as licensing agent for more than 26,000 music publisher principals, who in turn represent the interests of more than 150,000 songwriters. Besides the core business functions of licensing, collections, and distribution of royalties, HFA conducts periodic record company and other user audits on behalf of its principals. "We are delighted to welcome Gary as the new President of HFA at this important time in the music publishing industry," stated Robinson. "His long experience in strategic program development and management brings the necessary skills and expertise needed to continue the growth the Fox Agency has long enjoyed - well into the new century." Churgin added, "I look forward to the challenge of leading HFA at this crucial time for music publishers. The Internet presents great opportunities along with enormous challenges, and as the electronic age is changing the very nature of the music business, our fundamental goal will always be to continue to provide enhanced services to our publisher clients in the fastest, most efficient and most economical manner possible." With over twenty years in banking and management, Churgin's primary areas of expertise include e-commerce, sales, operations, administration, and change management. Currently, Churgin manages all aspects of an innovative Internet-based bill delivery and payment solution for corporate billers and their consumers. His responsibilities include creating strategic alliances with technology providers, designing and executing an Internet product launch, managing all sales and marketing, and evolving the product to meet ever-changing customer and business requirements. Previously, Churgin held other positions at other divisions at Citibank, including its Global Risk Reporting system. He formerly served as Vice-President and Director of Information Systems at Edward S. Gordon Company, a leading real estate firm, where he designed, implemented and managed the transition to an electronic office. He also held several positions in a management capacity for the City of New York. Churgin has an M.P.A. from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and a B.A. from Washington & Jefferson College. His wife, Amy, is the publisher of Architectural Digest.
