The Harry Fox Agency names Philip Teplitzky as Chief Information Officer.
NEW YORK, NEW YORK, May 30, 2001 — The Harry Fox Agency today announced the appointment of Philip Teplitzky as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer. Teplitzky reports to Gary L. Churgin, President and Chief Executive Officer.

Chief Information Officer is a newly-created position at the Agency in recognition of HFA's changing role in the music industry. In addition to the issuing of licenses and the collection and distribution of royalties, HFA is becoming an information intermediary for its publishers and clients in the collection, aggregation and provision of information that is vital to the operation of their business.

Prior to joining The Harry Fox Agency, Teplitzky served as Chief Technology Officer at VitaminShoppe.com, where he successfully developed their e-commerce retail website. Before that, he served as Vice President in the Consumer Banking Division at Citibank, where he was instrumental in developing and evaluating strategic technology and architectures. Earlier, Teplitzky was Managing Director of Technology with SHL System House and National Director, Database and Architecture with Coopers & Lybrand. He began his career as a programmer and analyst with Vydek.

"With his extensive knowledge in the application of advanced information, strategic plans and architecture, Phil is highly qualified to transform HFA's IT organization and culture into a responsive and proactive financial and intellectual property intermediary for our publisher principals and clients," said Churgin. "Phil has an outstanding record of professional experience and is well-versed in the technical aspects of state-of-the-art software, hardware and networking," continued Churgin. "His excellent management and leadership skills will be essential as he works closely with the leadership of the Agency, other music publishing and recording industry CIOs and senior management."

Teplitzky received a B.A. from SUNY Binghamton and a Master of Science degree in Computer Systems from SUNY Binghamton School of Advanced Technology. He has lectured extensively for leading professional societies such as the Institute of Internal Auditors, EDP Auditors Association and AICPA. He is a frequent contributor to ACM Computing Reviews and is often quoted in leading computer industry articles. Additionally, he serves as a member of the Editorial Advisory Board for Internet Week.
