Press Release

STATEMENT FROM: NMPA President and CEO David Israelite
RE: U.S. Trade Representative Release of “Special 301” Report

“As creators fight for their right to fair compensation in the U.S., their works are blatantly and regularly infringed in countries such as Russia, China and Ukraine.

On behalf of songwriters and their music publishing partners, I applaud the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative for continuing to call out countries that routinely undermine copyright.  The Administration’s commitment to identifying offending nations and working to enforce America’s intellectual property globally, benefits our economy and helps the creative community for generations to come.”

Background: The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative Office today released its annual “Special 301” report detailing the state of intellectual property rights and enforcement in trading partners around the world.
