NMPA Announces Program for Annual Meeting in NYC
Gold and Platinum Songwriting Award Recipients
WASHINGTON—Dan Glickman, Chairman and CEO of the Motion Picture Association of America, will keynote the 2008 Annual Meeting of the National Music Publishers’ Association (NMPA) Wednesday in New York, the association announced today.

NMPA President and CEO David Israelite will also deliver his annual state of the industry address at the gathering, which brings together hundreds of music publishers and songwriters from around the country.

The event will feature a performance by NMPA’s 2008 Songwriter Icon Award honoree Amy Lee, the Grammy Award-winning co-founder and lead singer of Evanescence. The NMPA today also announced recipients of NMPA’s Gold and Platinum Composition Awards, to be presented at the event. On hand to accept the gold and platinum “Notes” will be Toby Gad for “Big Girls Don’t Cry”; Taylor Swift for “Our Song” and “Teardrops on My Guitar”; Mikkel Eriksen and Tor Hermansen for “Unfaithful”, “Tattoo”, “With You” and “Wait for You”; Amanda Ghost for “Tattoo”; Philip Lamont Jackson for “Wait for You”; Carl Sturken and Evan Rogers for “Pon de Replay”.
