NMPA Announces Changes in Board Membership
Peter Primont and Evan Medow Join Board of Directors
Washington, DC - National Music Publishers' Association President and CEO David M. Israelite announced today that Peter Primont of Cherry Lane Publishing Company, Inc. and Evan Medow of Albert Hammond Music have joined the NMPA Board of Directors.

Primont was elected for the first time and Medow was re-elected at the NMPA Board meeting in September.

"The Board will benefit from Peter Primont’s considerable expertise in music publishing," said Irwin Z. Robinson, Chairman of the NMPA Board of Directors. “Evan Medow has been an extremely valued member of the Board and we are glad to have him back. With our new members, the next year promises to be a productive one.”

Primont, President and CEO of Cherry Lane, has a background in computer science and business administration. In 1985, he was asked to help formulate a business plan for Cherry Lane. By 1986, he became a partner and took over day-to-day management. Under Primont’s leadership, Cherry Lane has become one of the largest, fastest-growing independent music publishing companies, owning or administering more than 80,000 copyrights. Cherry Lane represents artists as diverse as John Denver, John Legend, Quincy Jones and The Black Eyed Peas, as well as corporate clients.

Medow was CEO of Windswept Holdings LLC until June of this year, when it was sold to Bug Music. He now serves as a consultant to Bug and is an officer of Albert Hammond Music.  Medow has also formed his own entity, Secret Sauce Music Group, as a vehicle for his future activities. During his years of private practice, Medow represented a number of large entertainment companies. In 1991, he became CEO of what was then Windswept Pacific Entertainment Co., helping build it into one of the premier independent music publishing companies in the world.

“We are glad to have Evan Medow and Peter Primont serving on the Board,” said Israelite. “They are both experienced music publishers with a deep understanding of the issues relating to our ability to protect our copyrights. Their perspective and contribution will be greatly appreciated.”

The other members of the NMPA Board are:  Martin Bandier, Sony/ATV Music Publishing; Freddy Bienstock, Carlin America, Inc.; Helene Blue, Anna Teresa Music; Arnold Broido, Theodore Presser Co.; Lionel Conway, Stage Three Music; Bob Doyle, Major Bob Music; John Eastman, MPL Communications, Inc.; Roger Faxon, EMI Music Publishing; David Johnson, Warner Chappell; Dean Kay, Demi Music Corp.; Maxyne Lang, Williamson Music; Leeds Levy, One Four Three Music; Ralph Peer, peermusic; David Renzer, Universal Music Publishing; John Rudolph,  Bug Music; and, as mentioned, Board Chairman Irwin Z.
